``To love is nothing. To be loved is something. But to love and be loved, that’s everything.`` ~Bill Russell
Their paths crossed again when they both volunteered to help throw a birthday party for their mutual friend, Kelsey. While they planned, they realized they had a lot in common and spent the entire party hanging out with each other.

Kristi and I met in our 6th grade math class and from that point on we were inseparable. Our friendship has had many adventures from our crazy fun shopping trips full of trying on funny hats and eating Lindor chocolates to taking silly pictures together at Maymont. She has been there for all the silly, stupid, crazy, awkward, awesome moments in my life and I am extremely happy that she was the one by my side for every last one of them. We may live in different states and not get to see each other but she will forever and always be my best friend. I am so very honored to be her Maid of Honor.
I remember when Stephen first met you
Being around you was all he wanted to do
And every time he looked your way,
He had a smile bright as a sunny day.
I remember every time you two were around
That laughter you shared was the loudest sound.
There was never a moment I didn't see my brother happy,
And that is the only thing that matters to me.
I remember thinking you both are so true to who you are,
And that relationship like that will go far.
And now I see the way Stephen cares for Kristi each day.
In order to protect her, nothing will stand in his way.
I am so happy to watch these two Hokies say I do
And keep making memories observing a love so pure and true!
Kristi and I met when Stephen brought her home for the first time! The whole family immediately agreed that she was the most sweet and thoughtful person we could have imagined for him and it was pretty clear from his constant smiling around her that he thought so too. Upon getting to know Kristi over the past few years I was excited to learn that she is not only sweet and thoughtful, but also smart, consistent, personable and comfortable talking about anything with anyone. Since she and Stephen relocated to Baltimore last year, we've had plenty of time together to gossip, share wine, and trade secrets. Not to mention, Kristi and I have discovered that we have a positively magical shopping chemistry together! I'm so incredibly happy to call her my friend and honored that she asked me to be one of her bridesmaids! Can't wait to officially welcome the future Mrs. Epstein into our crazy little family! Cheers to many happy years together!
Stephanie and Kristi met during their freshmen year at Virginia Tech and have been great friends ever since! Stephanie wishes that Kristi had stayed in Biology with her, but Accounting certainly suited Kristi better. They still made many memories living together their junior year, such as cooking family dinners, making crafts, and just hanging out at the Loveshack (our apartment's name). Kristi is such a loving, positive, and fun individual and Stephanie couldn't be happier to be part of her wedding. Kristi and Stephen are perfect for each other and Stephanie wishes them many years of happiness to come!
I met Kristi Freshman year at Virginia Tech! We lived together in Lee Hall and hung out a lot that year. My favorite memories with Kristi that year was making Valentine’s Day cards and making arts and crafts in my dorm room. To spend entire days with a great friend working on art projects is a luxury that was difficult to maintain as college progressed. We lived together our Junior year along with fellow roommates, Kelsey, Stephanie, and Stephen! Life in the Loveshack was always fun and included endless amounts of crafting and decorations!
The best experiences in college were always with Kristi, including football, pumpkin picking, Halloween Disney Princesses, inner tube water polo, study (but not really…) parties, Relay for Life, and Mardi Gras! Since then, we have celebrated New Years, battled in Christmas laser tag, and recently kayaked and built bonfires at the beach in San Diego. These memories are so dear to my heart because they are shared with an absolutely unselfish, optimistic, cheerful, and loving best friend. Kristi and Stephen are so fortunate to have found each other and I can’t imagine a closer couple. I wish them a long and happy life together, full of wonderful memories, and am honored to support their union as man and wife!
Kristi and I met at Virginia Tech while both studying for Accounting. After numerous study sessions, it was no time before we figured out we were so alike with our passions for life and we had such a great time hanging out. We spend so much time laughing with each other and I absolutely look forward to the lifelong friendship we will have and all the incredible memories we are going to make. I am so thrilled for Kristi and Stephen and cannot wait to experience their future together!
Kristi and I met playing our favorite sport- kickball! We bonded instantly as we talked on the sidelines of every game. Of course that meant Stephen was left on the field to pick up our slack. Sorry, Stephen! Even during all of our shenanigans it was obvious to see that Kristi and Stephen are best friends and made for each other. I am so lucky to be able to help Kristi and Stephen celebrate their big day!
Kristi and I met during our junior year at Virginia Tech. Over the years we have watched countless football games, attended beer festivals, and vacationed at the beach together. Kristi is easy to talk to, makes everyone around her smile, and is always down to enjoy some good wine. I am very excited to be a part of Kristi and Stephen's wedding!
Stephen and I first met in 1996 in Mrs. Crabb's first grade class at Broadneck Elementary School, and instantly became inseparable! We had many of the same interests and hobbies, ranging from playing army to playing lacrosse to dealing with older sisters. After 5th grade, Stephen and I went to different schools but remained extremely close and would later attend Virginia Tech together. We have been there for each other since 1996, found ourselves in some sticky situations, and seen each other succeed; and I could not ask for a better friend!
I am so glad to have Stephen as my soon to be brother in law. One of my favorite memories with him was when we were watching his and Kristi's favorite NFL team the Baltimore Ravens play my favorite NFL team the Denver Broncos. It was a double overtime thriller and the Ravens eventually won off of a 47 yard field goal kicked by Justin Tucker of the Ravens to make the final score 38-35. He makes my sister very happy and I am honored to be one of his groomsmen on 9/24/16.
I met Stephen when we were 8 years old, right before I moved into Ulmstead. We instantly became good friends! We had similar personalities, interests, and loved mischief haha. We did all sorts of things together. Things that involved sneaking into the pool (Steve got a thorn in his eye that night), setting off a gasoline inferno in his backyard, awesome high school basement parties, lighting off fireworks, raiding his stocked pantry (gushers, fruit rollups, salt and vinegar utz chips, pizza bagels, and eggo waffles...basically what maintained our relationship haha), barricading his house with Christmas trees, building an unreal tree house, lacrosse and soccer, and much much more.
Stephen and I met at Virginia Tech, hanging out with other freshman engineers in Lee Hall working on homework for intro engineering classes. We ended up in the same engineering specialty, and the same bachelors/masters dual degree program. Added to that, my fiancé Stephanie (one of the bridesmaids) shared an apartment at Tech with Kristi, Kelsey, and Andrea (other bridesmaids) so Stephen and I saw a lot of each other at VT. Stephen and I were good friends throughout our time at school, always watching football, going to the Cellar, or working on endless homework assignments together. I have been friends with Kristi and Stephen since before they started dating, and I am excited to be able to be a part when they finally get married in September.
I met Stephen (and Kristi) when I was a freshman at Virginia Tech. Even though my major was Biology, at VT you inevitably had more friends in engineering than your own major. I first met Stephen in the engineering dorm, Lee Hall, which would become the backdrop for many of our college adventures that year. Some of my best memories from that time are of epic Nerf gun battles with Stephen and our friends that raged down the whole length of the dorm, longboarding lessons in the halls, snowball fights in the quad, and many many Hokie presses at football games to celebrate touchdowns during an awesome freshman season! After we had all moved off campus he was often a fixture at our place to "study" with the other engineers and enjoy some chili and of course watch more football. At some point along the way we all managed to complete our degrees and Stephen has developed into a hard working engineer and entrepreneur that I am proud to call my friend. Stephen and Kristi have always been a really great couple, and I am honored to be a part of their special day!
Stephen and I met at a holiday party a few years ago when Caroline and I started dating and instantly bonded over the struggles of a CPA studying girlfriend. We started hanging out more as Stephen finished his masters and continued hanging out every time he and Kristi came to Blacksburg. Stephen is an amazing friend and I am so happy to be able to stand next to him for this wonderful occasion.
I met Stephen when we both worked at Aerojet Rocketdyne. He was one of those Hokie fans that relentlessly reminded me of Tech’s football streak over UVA (I am a Wahoo). While we disagree on sports teams, we do agree on proactively changing the world through engineering and entrepreneurship. Someday, we will inevitably start a company together. I have spent a lot of good happy hours with Stephen and Kristi at Max’s in Baltimore when I interned at Harpoon, and am honored to be part of their wedding.
Stephen and I first met in the dorms at Virginia Tech, our first week of freshman year. We were both in a special engineering hall surrounded by the brightest and geekiest of our peers. The first few weeks in the dorm were amazing, everyone living there had an open door policy that made it easy to make friends through nerf fights, dry ice hockey, and hallway skateboarding. It's easy to say why we became friends; Stephen has a great sense of humor, an incredible intellect, and is one of the most selfless people I've ever met. He's always up for an adventure, and is cool and collected when faced with challenges.``The best thing about memories is...making them.``
